Craig gets honored....

Craig was recently honored by the Clemson University Board of Trustees for winning a photography award from the Council for Advancement and Support of education. Below is a photo of him receiving the award from Clemson University President Jim Barker and Vice Chairman of the Board Joe Swann.

Southern Stems

We just saw that we were mentioned on Southern Stems blog. Southern Stems is a great florist from the Columbia area. We had the pleasure of working with them a month or two ago at a wedding we had on Lake Murray. You can see what they had to say at http://southernstems.blogspot.com/2008/05/lake-murray-wedding.html

Jessica & Matthew...

These photos are from several weeks ago and we just have not had time to post them. Our Spring has been so busy with engagements, bridals and weddings that we've really gotten behind on posting new photos to our blog. This session was shot early in the morning in Hilton Head. What a beautiful backdrop it turned out to be!

Inspiration...

It's been a while since we last wrote, and we've been up to a lot of things we wanted to share with you. First of all, we attended the workshop of Yervant and Joe Buissink in Atlanta. I was so inspired and excited to get back and implement the things we learned. Since we first met Joe Buissink back at the WPPI conference in the spring of 2007, I have admired his work and his passion for wedding photography. He understands the importance of the day, and he connects emotionally with the couple and is able to get the most intimate beautiful wedding photos. Craig and I are consistently studying under other photographers and challenging ourselves, and as a result every event we shoot is better than the one before.
Joe is also a huge inspiration for us, in his willingness to give back. We have been searching for a way to give back to the Greenville community, which has given us so much. We have decided to work with the Greenville Hospital System to volunteer our services for children with cancer. Two weeks ago we spent the afternoon at Camp Greystone in Tuxedo, NC with the teenagers attending Camp Courage (a summer camp sponsored by Greenville Hospital System for children and teens with cancer). We did individual and group photo sessions for all of the teenagers, and I can't even begin to explain how rewarding the experience was for us. Not only were they a lot of fun to work with, but they were all great in front of the camera! We have finally selected our favorites for printing, which we will send to them shortly. I hope they will enjoy them as much as we enjoyed taking them. We have also volunteered to make home visits to photograph families with children who are not well enough to go to a photography studio. It is hard to see these beautiful children suffering from cancer, but the reward is so much greater and it really helps us to put things in perspective.

Love is in the air...

Hey guys...it has been a while since I last wrote, and of course even after this blog post I still have a list of 6 more engagements and weddings to post. It is beginning to slow down a bit, now that we are wrapping up with most of the engagements and bridals for this year. We are definitely now full swing into wedding season (we have a wedding every Saturday from now until mid-September--and a couple of Friday and Sunday weddings as well!) Below are three engagements we shot several weeks ago, sorry for the delay. Enjoy!
